Description
Grow in open ground from May to July, in a sunny location. Place your seeds one by one in rows 40 cm apart. Cover with a little soil and lightly tamp down with the back of a rake, then water.
Thinning: As growth progresses, thin out by removing the smallest plants to leave one every 60 cm. Then water thoroughly.
These flowers appreciate rich, well-drained soils.
Hollyhocks can be staked, especially those planted along a wall.
These plants can be used to screen a fence or wall when planted in a line.
Flowering takes place from July to September.
